What a fabulous day at the Muslim Lit Fest in Birmingham today!! Looking forward to Part II tmrw!! Why not come along to my creative writing workshop?

(Yes, this is me making my very own handmade notebook!!)

It was so wonderful to begin the day meeting the lovely @katerafiqstudio for the Palestinian poetry workshop, then I had a chance to chill and write in my fave coffee house in Moseley @damascena_uk. After that I spent a glorious two hours with Dr Neelam of the @miahfoundation making our own notebooks!!

In between I was super excited to meet and talk creative writing with the awesomely inspiring @mehded.maryam.sinclair @zimarinasarwar, who wrote a fantastically accurate non-fiction book for kids @kubepublishing among others. I also met a woman who curates art for a museum up north who was so kind about my book, Finding Peace Through Prayer & Love, and had the same name as the protagonist in my first fiction novel 😆 Fareeda!! (That was a bit spooky lol)

All in all, a lovely day! Thank you @beacon_books for organising! InshaAllah I look forward to more of this in the future inshaAllah!

(But first, I’ll see you again tmrw afternoon!!)
