Every day I feel the privilege of being a mum,
From the unconditional hugs and cuddles
To the deep love that binds us for eternity,
A mother is not herself but
A being divided into parts,
When her child is hurting,
her heart physically aches,
It is restless with uncertainty
Grateful when everyone is close
and complete with a warm hug
Full of indignation with unfair treatment,
Full of a conviction that all will be well,
Where we hope to end up a Love exists that is deeper than all that we see on earth…

To my mother, who drops everything when we call on her,
To all the would-be mothers,
could-be mothers,
To the mothers who have passed away and left us with an echo of healing hearts and wisdom beyond words.
