Short bio:

Sidra got her first taste of writing stories, as an adult, when she completed a ‘Becoming a Writer’ course after which she was shortlisted for the Asian Writer Short Story Prize and chosen for the Penguin Write Now Live Program for underrepresented writers.

Her non-fiction book for adults, ‘Finding Peace Through Prayer and Love’ was published by Beacon Books in January 2021 and won the Golden Door Bronze Award for Truth and Integrity of the Written Word.

Sidra currently works as a Class 2 teacher at a local Waldorf school, where she is consistently enthralled and inspired to write new stories.

Over the last few years she has written six brand new titles for Ladybird Education and hopes that she can continue in the same vain as she sees children’s educational books as a perfect marriage of both the teaching and writing world.

(She has just won for The Week Junior Audiobook of the Year Award for her audiobook The Natural Wonders of the World!)

Sidra Ansari is currently writing her second women’s fiction novel, having sent out her first novel to a few select agents earlier this year.
